Welcome to Willowtail Springs, the best kept secret in Southwest Colorado!
Our private and secluded lakefront cabins are only 10 minutes from the Mesa Verde National Park entrance, Mancos’ galleries, restaurants and shops. From here, you can easily visit the Anasazi Heritage Center, Ute Mountain Tribal Park, drive the San Juan scenic byway and ride on the Durango/Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad.
Willowtail Springs is the perfect venue for romantic getaways, honeymoons, anniversaries, small weddings, family vacations, reunions and artist retreats.
Many outdoor activities are available including fishing for large mouth bass on our private lake (catch and release only) and trout nearby (with or without a guide), hiking, mountain biking, white water rafting, golfing, horseback riding, downhill and cross-country skiing.
Willowtail Springs includes 60 protected acres of enchanted beauty: gardens, views of the mountains, private lake, winding paths through forests, meadows, hidden passages and meandering streams.
In addition to its natural beauty and the exquisite gardens, Willowtail Springs is owned and operated by two unique people–artist Peggy Cloy and Tai Chi Practitioner Lee Cloy.
Lee is available for private or group lessons, either on site or at his Tai Chi studio in Mancos.
Peggy teaches privately on site at Willowtail Springs or at her studio in Mancos. You can see her work on the web site, peggycloy.com.
Peggy’s Working Studio next to the Lakehouse, lake and garden is open any time. Stroll in and look at the work. The Treehouse /Gallery is open by appointment. Call at 970-560-0333 so Peggy can show you this gorgeous new space or just catch her or Lee on the property to show you around. Both studios can also be rented for group gatherings or meetings. The Working Studio can be rented for workshops, retreats or to artists and writers staying in one of the cabins.
Imagine yourself in nature year-round at Willowtail Springs. Breathe in the Colorado mountain air during sunrise or when the mist hangs low on the surface of the water in the evening. The alpine glow turns the mountains pink in winter and chartreuse in fall.
The 4 acre lake is complete with boats and fishing gear which makes for entertainment and fun for the entire family. Willowtail Springs also offers hiking trails along its adjoining property with BLM and other large open tracts.
You can paddle out on the pond after a rain where rainbow’s reflections on the water dance in full circles, and watch a shooting star in a sky so full it makes your spirit vibrate. Make your stay extra special by arranging for a massage, facial or special dinner in your cabin.
There is now wireless internet connection in all the cabins and on their decks.
We look forward to meeting you when you come stay at Willowtail Springs!
Warm Regards,
Peggy & Lee Cloy
